Cancellation Policy
Excursions and VIP Transfers
Our cancellation policy for bookings made through our website is outlined below. However, in exceptional circumstances beyond the control of our guests, we may be able to offer more flexibility.
- If the guest cancels the booking 8-21 days before boat embarkation, a cancellation fee of 50% of the total amount paid will be imposed. Nevertheless, the client has the option to reschedule the same boat trip experience once, subject to vessel availability and consultation with the company.
- If the guest cancels the booking within 1-7 days of boat embarkation, a cancellation fee of 100% of the total amount paid will be applied. However, the client retains the right to reschedule the same boat trip experience once, contingent upon vessel availability and consultation with the company.
Change requests:
- Changes can be made up to 7 days before the cruise date without incurring an additional fee. If there is a price difference between the original and new services, the customer will be refunded the difference, subject to availability.
Company discretion:
- The company reserves the right to modify the cruise route or cancel it if necessary for safety reasons, such as inclement weather. In the event of cancellation by the company, a full refund will be issued.
- The itinerary may be altered due to strong winds, and if the weather is not suitable for a specific cruise (such as the Round of Milos), a 15% discount will be offered. Passengers will be informed the day before the trip.
- The company also retains the right to cancel the tour due to extreme weather conditions, equipment malfunction, or any other reason deemed necessary for passenger safety.
Boat Rentals
Weather conditions
A boat rental with A La Mer is a bareboat charter. The vessel is placed at the disposal of the Charterer for the agreed dates, and the Charterer acts as the master of the vessel. The decision to depart, the choice of route, and the decision to remain in port are the sole responsibility of the Charterer.
Weather conditions do not constitute grounds for cancellation, refund, or credit. From the moment a booking is confirmed, the vessel is reserved exclusively for the Charterer and withdrawn from availability for the agreed dates. The charter fee is due in full whether or not the Charterer chooses to use the vessel. If the Charterer decides not to take the vessel out on any given day, for reasons of weather, comfort, or personal preference, no refund or partial refund will be issued, and the cancellation policy above applies without exception.
A La Mer may restrict the cruising area or the permitted route on days of strong wind. Such restrictions are given for the safety of the Charterer and the vessel and are binding on the Charterer. A restricted cruising area does not entitle the Charterer to a refund or a reduction of the charter fee.
Professional skipper
On days of demanding conditions, or at any time the Charterer prefers, A La Mer can provide a professional skipper at an additional daily cost, subject to availability. This allows the Charterer to enjoy the vessel with an experienced local professional at the helm, who knows the waters and the anchorages of the Cyclades. Requests for a skipper should be made as early as possible, and we recommend arranging this at the time of booking where conditions are expected to be challenging.
Rescheduling as a courtesy
Where the forecast is genuinely unfavorable, A La Mer will make reasonable efforts to offer alternative dates, subject to vessel availability. Any such offer is made at the company’s discretion, as a gesture of goodwill, and does not create an entitlement to reschedule, to a refund, or to a credit.
For all cancellations or changes we require email notification at info@alamer.gr
