Yes, book as early as possible! Requests are high, particularly in the summer, so we suggest you to book at least 3 weeks in advance to guarantee your preferred dates.

The easiest way to book is through our website. You can see the BOOK ΝΟW button in the upper right corner.
The process is very simple just as booking a hotel or a flight.
If you are in Sifnos, you can pass by our kiosk in Platis Gialos marina -(see our location in the About Us section)- and book your activity on the spot.
Feel free to contact us by email, phone or using the WhatsApp or Messenger button on our website if you have any questions.

Once you start the booking process, if the day you chose is not available it should appear as such.

For all our Excursions and VIP transfers, Fuel IS included in the price.
For all our Boat rentals (either with skipper or Bareboat), Fuel IS NOT included in the price!
At the end of the Boat rental you will pay the cost of the fuel you have consumed. Feel free to contact us for an estimate in advance if this is helpful.

Our prices are always per group of up to 4 people and NOT per person.
For more than 4 people, there is an  additional cost of 30 euros per person, due to the extra weight and increased fuel consumption.

No. Hotel transfer is not included but can be arranged if you require. We co-operate with a mini-van service, which uses excellent vans, professional drivers and offers competitive prices. Payment will be made directly by you and you will get the A La Mer discounted price. We don’t take commissions for such transfers, we just want to help!

Our prices include :

  • Boat
  • A very experienced Skipper
  • VAT (24%)
  • Gas (ONLY for excursions and VIP transfers)
  • Refreshments
  • Bottles of water
  • Beer
  • Snorkeling gear

Cruising with A La Mer is totally fun & carefree. You only need to bring your personal belongings; swimsuit, towel, sunscreen, hat and glasses to protect from the strong Greek sun, your cellphone/camera.
Our boats are fully equipped with snorkeling gear but if you have your own mask and flippers you are of course welcome to bring them.
Early or late in the season, a light windproof jacket might help to warm you up when the sun starts dropping.

PS. If you like a snack or a sandwich, you are more than welcome to bring it, we can store it in our ice cooler so you can enjoy it later.

Absolutely! All our boats are equipped with bimini tops, i.e. sun tents, that cover the cockpit/rear sitting area.

For us, your safety is our first priority. Every day before the start of the activity, the weather is estimated in consultation with the port authorities and if it is considered dangerous the activity or rental will not take place. In this case we transfer the booking to another day depending on availability. If the port authorities do not allow the departure of boats, you will be refunded in full.

This basically depends on the person and what water temperature you are accustomed to. Mediterranean waters never get as warm as the tropics, but neither get super cold like many ocean coasts. On a nice sunny day water temperature will be almost the same as outside temperature and you will see that you will get used to the sea pretty fast. Cyclades are blessed with amazing weather. Rain is very rarely a problem. ‘Bad’ weather for us means very strong winds. But even those will not affect our excursion to the point that we have to cancel the trip, except in very rare cases. We can, however, modify the itinerary so to go to the protected side of the island and avoid cruising in rough seas. For example, during summer months, strong north winds can blow all over the Cyclades (we call them meltemi). In this case we prefer to go to the south side of Milos or Poliegos, which are totally protected. No waves, no risk of sea-sickness and there are plenty of beautiful places to visit including Kleftiko and its’ caves, which are magnificent even in the strongest north winds. Furthermore, the A La Mer team consists of very skillful skippers. So don’t worry you will be in safe hands. Finally, we will always inform you about the route we will follow a couple of days before the trip, after taking into consideration the weather conditions.

Very good question!

Firstly, if you are a bad swimmer then you can use the lifejackets and floating devices available on our boats and swim safely. If you don’t want to dive from the boat in deep water, you can still cool off during our stops as there are beaches on our stops, smaller or bigger, that you can just walk in and spend time in the water. Nonetheless, you do not have to swim if you do not want to. The fact that our excursions are done with a maximum of 8 people makes our boats very spacious for you to stay on board. Shaded areas, give you the chance to enjoy your time staying on the boat without having to swim.

Of course we do, there is no law restriction about the age of the passengers.
Kids usually have an amazing new experience on board and we are very happy to share it with them.
Nevertheless, the conditions on an open type boat (sun, wind, etc), can be tiring for children under 2 years of age, so in this case we would suggest that you choose a shorter tour of 4 hours.

Our boats are fully equipped with lifejackets of all sizes. Floating devices are also provided.

All of our RIB boats have a compass and also complete electronic instrumentation, with GPS chart plotters and depth finders.

Before the rental, our team will provide you with all the necessary information about Sifnos and a map that has all the relevant details. This is included with our smaller boats.

We have two types of boats: a) Smaller (4.5m / 15ft) with a 30hp motor, that doesn’t need a license to operate and you can cruise around Sifnos island (only) with it, and b) Bigger (from 5.4m to 12m) RIB type boats that you do need a speedboat license and proven seaworthiness and experience, in order to rent and operate.

A Rigid Inflatable Boat (RIB), also rigid-hull inflatable boat or rigid-hulled inflatable boat (RHIB), is a lightweight but high-performance and high-capacity boat constructed with a rigid hull bottom joined to side-forming air tubes that are inflated with air to a high pressure so as to give the sides resilient rigidity along the boat’s topsides. The design is stable, light, fast and seaworthy. The inflated collar acts as a life jacket, ensuring that the vessel retains its buoyancy, even if the boat is taking on water. The RIB is an evolutionary development of the inflatable boat with a rubberized fabric bottom that is stiffened with flat boards within the collar to form the deck or floor of the boat.
Having a very deep V hull shape, gives the boat the ability to ride the waves very smoothly thus resulting in a very comfortable ride: In tough weather the air tubes will provide better shock absorption than any other type of boat. The passengers will be able to enjoy the tough ride from the sofas and also be safer than on a conventional boat, as there are no hard surfaces one could hit onto in case of a misstep.
Fast: Being more lightweight and able to work with most powerful motors, RIBs can be very fast, without compromising the safety of the passengers.
Energy saving: Compared to traditional hard hull boats, RIBs can reach the same speed using less power, because of their lightweight design.
This means that with the same amount of gas we have a bigger range and consume less energy, keeping our footprint to the environment lower.

If you ‘re interested in renting our smaller type boats with 30hp engines, you actually don’t need any experience or any type of license. They’re very easy to operate and with our team’s help and guidance, you will be able to be the captain of your dreams in no time!

For our bigger RIB type boats, you definitely need plenty of experience, proven seaworthiness and a speedboat license in order to rent and operate!

Most of our RIB fleet is available for bareboat (without a skipper), renting, providing of course that you have a speedboat license and you are accustomed to the -sometimes-, rough Aegean sea conditions.

We only offer private RIB boat excursions and VIP transfers (to, or from Sifnos – to and from any other Cycladic island).

Some of our boats have a max capacity of 10 passengers and some of 8 passengers total. Skipper is always included. This means that we can host groups up to 9 or 7 people on board depending on the boat.

In our smaller boats, (the ones you can rent without a license), the max capacity is 5 people.
